Registries - Check! (Well, sort of....)

What a busy weekend of wedding planning this has been!
Most notably, we decided we needed to get on the ball with our registries. We began at Macy's, which was the perfect place to begin - they offer a very thorough registry process, with a consultant walking us through everything from suggestions as to what we might want to register for, how many, setting a sample place setting with our china once we chose it.....the list goes on. The process was super helpful, even to us as an older couple who is "experienced" at running a household and who already has many of the things younger couples need to get their first home up and running. However, it was lengthy, and we were there for almost 3 hours, which still only resulted in a 1-page registry printout!! We have several ideas of what we might want to add, so this will be an ongoing process...
Next stop: Target! Our experience here was quite different; the guest service folks handed us the scanner and said "knock yourselves out" :) Just what we needed, having already gone through the motions a Macy's. Still a short list, but much quicker process. We questioned whether we really needed a Target registry, but there were several items (a set of the "library" version board games, some bed & bath items, etc) that we couldn't find any we liked at Macy's, so Target filled those needs. Plus, we know that as guests, people will appreciate this convenient shopping option.
We plan on adding one more registry at Crate & Barrel, but we are attending a registry event there next weekend, so we couldn't get started on that quite yet....
Which is fine. My husband-to-be isn't used to this much shopping in one weekend!
More later!
