November 14 (11 1/2 weeks)

Well, this week I had TWO more doctor appts!  On Thursday, I got in (Hallelujah!) for my H1N1 flu vaccine.  A huge weight off my shoulders not having to worry about catching that....

On Friday, I had my first midwife appointment.  It was great; we met with Laurel, and had a wonderful chat with her about my pregnancy, some tips, and suggestions.  Then I had an exam and pap (Joseph had no idea what we women go through at the doctor!) and Laurel tried to hear the baby's heartbeat!  Unfortunately, she couldn't get it on the doppler, so we scheduled an ultrasound for next Weds.  Can't wait to update you then!  We were disappointed not to be able to hear our baby's heartbeat (I wanted proof!)  but are excited to get such an early ultrasound opportunity to see our baby!

Feeling about the same; good days and bad.  The weekends are still tough, but I manage, and take advantage of the opportunity to catch up on my sleep.  We are getting SO excited!  Our room is all painted (thanks, Ma & Pa Smith!) and we can't wait to find out whether our little peanut is a boy or a girl so that we can get his or her new room all ready for them!

Today, we went to Albertville to the Motherhood Maternity  outlet store....shopping for maternity clothes made it all much more "real" and exciting (even though I felt completely crummy!)  I don't need to wear maternity yet, but wanted to be prepared, and definitely needed a new winter coat ASAP.  Lately, the weather has been great, but you never know when  that 1st MN cold snap will hit!  Of course, no trip to Albertville would be complete for Daddy without lunch at Space Aliens.  Even though most of the food there made my stomach turn, I enjoyed the french fries and made it through the afternoon ;)
