Feburary 7th (24 weeks)

OK.  I fail at this blog, apparently!!

Lots of news.....beginning with our big 20-week ultrasound!  On Weds 1/6/10, we were thrilled to see our little one "live" and to find out that we are expecting a baby BOY!  He is completely healthy, and we are getting more and more excited by the day to welcome him home!

I have been feeling great; nothing much new here.  The nausea and lack of energy have disappeared almost completely, and although I'm back to eating normally, I've still only gained a total of about 8 lbs.  Still getting up a couple of times each night to use the bathroom, but definitely getting used to this sleep schedule.  No discomfort or pain; feeling great!

We also began discussing names almost as soon as we found out that we were expecting a son.  After lots of discussion and narrowing down (our finalists were William (Billy), Owen, Noah, and Jeremiah)  we have finally come to the important decision.  Our first child will be named....

 Owen William Satre!

We let our moms know about our name choice this weekend, and are excited to prepare for Owen's arrival.  We haven't really started shopping yet (the day of the ultrasound we made a trip to Babies R Us, and were completely  overwhelmed!) but have started looking at the "big" items like cribs and car seats.   We have also gotten his bedroom almost cleared out and ready to decorate and fill with baby items!

He has been kicking up a storm; it's been a joy to feel him moving and to know he's growing so fast!  Joseph and I are both enjoying talking to Owen, and I've been singing to him a little also.  I began reading Dr. Oz's baby book, and have been learning tons about pregnancy and babies!  Joseph even watched "The Business of Being Born" and learned a lot about natural childbirth.  We're loving the process of preparing for parenthood, and growing closer to each other through it.

I'll try to give another update sooner this time!
