I think planning has officially turned me into a case for the insane asylum... how did all of these silly, often unnoticed details become such a point of obsession?
I had three items on my agenda today:
1. Find a bridal purse
2. Decide on either an ornament tree or mitsumatsu branches
3. Call the store back about that chopsticks order
So, I started with number one... perusing the many fine websites out there as well as eBay, I was trying to figure out whether I should carry something that was navy or ivory:

and between something simple or something fancy and beaded:

and then I looked at a few oddball shapes...

before finally concentrating on the vintage offerings at eBay:

Although I checked out the bridal purses at the Sak, which I like (below), I ended up going with the navy vintage style on the right above. I'll be excited to see how I like it in person!

So that's done... now on to number (2). I was not sure whether to look for an ornament tree or to order mitsumata branches online at nettletonhollow.com, and my fiance didn't care:
VS.
I might have waited, but I happened to run across th excellent sale at Pier 1 this weekend, which made the branches only $5!!

So I called around to find a store with some in stock and purchased 6 of them on the way home... YAY! I have handmade bookmarks that will hang as ornaments on the branches, which will be anchored in a nice vase. (I'll post the bookmarks some other time..)
And so I finally made it to number 3.. we're giving out two favors, one of which is a decorative set of chopsticks (the other will remain unidentified for now!).. I could only find 75 pairs of the pattern I liked a while back, but the place was not able to order another 75 in the exact same pattern.. I'll post the picture later, but I ended up ordering (and now have received) 75 pairs of a complementary pattern. Not perfect, but I think I can live with it.
So check, check and check...
