My dress & other updates!

I've had a very productive week!

 First, I finished the fabric paint work on the aisle runner, removed the marking lines and it is finished!  All I have left is to iron it and roll it up nicely...  I may try to photograph it before or after ironing, stretching it out as far as I can (but at 100 feet long, there may not be the room..)

Second, I returned one pair of shoes and ordered another, which I hope to be the shoes I wear-- the color appears to be darker and closer matched and the height is more reasonable:

Third (and most exciting), I had the muslin fitting of my dress today... the next one will be the first fitting of the real dress!  Besides deciding to definitely get a corset and hit the gym in the next 8 months, I loved the style & the dressmaker rocks!  This picture doesn't show the style nearly as well as the live view.. (Oh, and next time, I won't try it on with maroon underwear on!) 

I'm so excited!

We're still deciding on the hem length, and these aren't the shoes or the navy sash/accent color, but it at least gives you an idea of how it is progressing...

One more bit of progress this week --the bridal purse arrived, and I think I need to add a little decorative something or other two it-- maybe a pearly brooch- but at $1 + shipping, it was a steal!

Along with the progress, though, have been new obstacles. 

1) My fiance has requested an entrance and entrance song of his own.  He thinks it unfair that only the bride gets one traditionally.. so I'll be tweaking one of the few things that I thought we'd need less work on.

2) My maid of honor is pregnant and due a few weeks before the wedding-- although very happy news (!! :) !!), I'll need to find one more attendant... I'm thinking of asking a friend who lives here.. but I just found out today, so it hasn't happened yet.

All in all-- many good things!  Wow!  It's amazing to see this roll forward!
