Hiatus from DIY...

I've been swamped with work and studying for a series of professional exams I have coming up in the next three weeks, so I've taken a break from making any new progress on most of my DIY projects... I may need a sanity break in the middle of studying and dabble in something, but for now, they are on hold.
That hasn't, however, stopped me from gathering some more materials for FUTURE projects. I can always enjoy some online shopping!
Today, I selected fabric for my rehearsal dinner dress, which I plan to have made by a seamstress. After this custom dress experience for the wedding dress, I'm likely to get more things made in the future. For the rehearsal dinner dress, I've selected this as the primary fabric (ordered from www.eQuilter.com) for the body of the dress, and I will look for the contrasting color fabric for the collar (a solid color) at a store near my house once my print has arrived:

The dress pattern isn't this one, but it is very similar in style and it is also a 50s vintage pattern (from www.sovintagepatterns.com). The actual pattern has a more rounded collar, and I'm selecting a short sleeve length without cuffs, but the shape of the dress is generally the same:

I also plan to have my reception dress made (yes, my FI has suggested and even encouraged a reception dress or dresses!) and I have ordered this as the pattern I think I'll be using... I love the 50s style and the contrast trim! This is available at www.voguepatterns.com under the Vintage Vogue pattern category.

For those of you who weighed in with an opinion (which was Knotties, family, friends and livejournal members), I had input that ran the gamut with no choice standing out clearly. I ended up picking the One True Love patch:

This was ordered from www.PosterPop.com, for those who inquired, but it can also be found elsewhere, such as the awesome www.stickerchick.com
My last purchase of the day (I think), was an indulgence-- a set of ivory fishnets that I plan to at least try on with my dress-- I may not choose them, but I have to see... these are the same weave fishnet but in kelly green

The fishnets were ordered from www.welovecolors.com, which I adore... I've asked for a pair of the lavender croche tights for my birthday (one week away!), so I am hoping that someone's going to treat me with them... :)
