Lingerie and boudoir photography

Yesterday should have been first fitting of my real (non-muslin) dress... but the dressmaker was sick so it's postponed just one more week. In the meantime, I went to Frederick's of Hollywood to get a budget-friendly corset. I have to rave about the customer service there as I had just received abysmal service at Victoria's Secret (where I started as I have a small gift certificate burning a hole in my pocket!). I was so peeved at the sales girl's lack of knowledge or assistance at Victoria's Secret that I left without getting anything. The girl a Frederick's not only assisted me in quickly finding the right item, but also offered assistance in sizing and fit, as well as help getting the laces pulled tight. It was hands down a better experience and reminder of why I no longer shop at VS regularly. I selected the Hollywood dream corset, which I hope to use to disguise anything that gets missed with my new fitness regime:

Also this week, I made a first attempt at DIY boudoir photography-- I've been reading posts about this little treat for one's FI, but it's not in my budget and so I thought I'd try the DIY route (I was inspired by another Knottie who did a fanastic job with DIY Valentines photos). Aside from the need for a tripod to make this a work a tad better, my first attempt was fun... mine are a bit costume-like as it was the easiest way for me to get comfortable with the idea...
Items I assembled for my experiment:
- Fun lingerie in assorted colors: ruffle butt panties, a costume fur bra, a shiny halter top (with sequins), cute assorted lace panties, hot pants, lace gloves, fishnets, striped thigh highs, a wig, a few jewelry accesories, a lace camisole, and knee high black vinyl boots
- Nice fabric/sheets for backdrop draping: solid colors with velvet or satiny textures, solid color sheets for basic shots
- Digital camera (I would also suggest a tripod)
- If available, I'd also suggest some lighting tools (extra lamps/lights or lots of natural light)-- but I didn't have a lot of either, so I had to work with the light I had
I imported my photos and used Photoshop to disguise/crop where needed, and to exaggerate colors. Here's a cropped photo... but I'm not going to be posting the full body shots..(for sooome modesty! )

I AM looking forward to a second attempt in the near future.. ;) I encourage you to give it a whirl if you are considering them but are (like me) on a tight budget...
