So, I managed to finish a bucket full of bouts and corsages, and I thought I'd share... after that, I decided to use the extra fabric flowers for a flower girl headpiece,,, I still have about 7 flowers to use up somehow, but haven't come to any decent decisions on how that will happen.
First, the bouts/corsages... I decided to use two different styles, the folded ribbon for the guys and the dangling ribbon for the ladies:

So, I started with the fabric flowers (described in an earlier post). I flipped these over and:
1. Using a hot glun gun, attached some flat ribbon to the center of the back of the flower (would work with some other bout/corsage centerpiece idea, also)

2. I either folded the ribbon in to the center and attached it with more glue from the glue gun or I applied a second drop of glue on top of the ribbon and folded the ribbon over to glue it down in a narrow "V" shape
3. After setting, I then applied more glue (glue sticks are ridiculously cheap) and attached a pin backing you can buy at a fabric/craft store (I spent $2 for something like 50 of them!)

This is how the final product looks pinned on:

Next, I needed to use flowers...

.....so I decided to make a flower girl headpiece.
1. I had two needlepoint wooden rings in a small size, so I took the inner solid ring and separated it from the outer adjustible ring

2. I gathered coordinating ribbon...
Starting with a wide ribbon (an inch or more), I applied glue with the hot glue gun to the outer side of the wooden ring in small sections. While hot, I attached the ribbon at its center so the ribbon covered the entire outer surface of the wooden ring.
3. Applying more glue to the inside of the ring, I slowly worked my way around, fastening first the top half of the ribbon and then the bottom. Although a bit messy if you're not patient (like me), you end up with a ribbon covered ring.
4. Next, I took my coordinating ribbon color and gluing the tail down, I then wrapped the ribbon in a spiral around the underlying band, securing the ribbon with small drops of hot glue in the inside of the ring. I secured the end of the ribbon to the inside of the ring when I was done.
5. Then, I fastened the fabric flower to the front of the ring with more glue from the glue gun. I used thin ribbon in matching colors and different lengths and tied them to the back of the ring in very simple knots.
6. This is the end result-- not bad for a whopping investment of $5/each
