A little DIY and quite a bit of shopping

Things keep on moving forward... there are plenty of items I need to be working on, but it seems hard to approach them in order.

This week, I picked out FI's and groomsmen ties (a low cost investment from Marshalls-- Claiborne ties in a champagne-like color with dark blue and green dots as the pattern).  We went to look at attire for the guys today but the line at the shop was crazy and we decided to try again next weekend.

I started making rehearsal dinner invites because I was inspired by some new paper at Paper Source.

The card base came from *** Blick and is a pebble-like texture.  The decorative paper and the red contrast are both from Paper Source.  I'm going to stamp the word "Celebrate" in the red square on the front in pearl white ink and then use a stamp with "You're Invited" on the insert inside-- that stamp also has a template to fill in for the Who/Where/When of the event.

On a separate insert, which will be the patterned paper and a small red card, I'm going to use these letter stamps I have to stamp "Bridal Party, please meet at the church at 5:00 pm" in pearl white ink.

I'm currently waiting for the stamps to come in but have affixed the pattern paper to the card base on all the invitations.  I'll finish those off next weekend.  I took a baby step on the invitations, but those are a task I'm still waiting a bit longer on.

I found a few great things while shopping on Friday... (I had the day off)

1. The necklace-- which is more sparkly in person that this picture.  It was from Michal Negrin (http://www.michalnegrin.com/110-en/Homepage.aspx).  I think it looks appropriately vintage but very pretty and sparkly... I wish I had a reason (and budget) for some of the more elaborate necklaces, but perhaps that will be something to add AFTER the wedding.  I simply adore the store & the jewelry...

I also found a robe at Old Navy that screamed out to me-- I love the texture and the blue will look great with my blue ruffled undies (oh yes, with a full skirt I can totally get away with the ruffles.  I found a pair that thankfully conceals a few of my figure flaws!)..
