The attack of the 8 foot banquet table...

We're finallly (*sigh*) making some decor progress.

We will have 8 foot banquet tables, covered in ivory tablecloths and set with navy cloth napkins at each place.  Besides the centerpieces, we'll have candles (but I'm currently contemplating what those will look like).

These will be the bamboo table runners:

Originally, we decided that the floral arrangements would be long square planter boxes that are stained a darker wood color.  My dad offered to make them all--one for each long table table.. and somewhere between these two styles, but in a dark stained or painted wood color (it's a DIY family!):

After tonight's conversations with dad, I think we'll actually have several items per table but they will be smaller.  We were talking about a mixture of smaller square vases that resemble the above (again, made by dad, stained in a dark wood).  He's going to put together some mock up samples of the vessels while we get input from his friend on the flowers. 

It's looking like despite my grandiose wishes at the beginning, it may be more striking to simplify the color or the textures.  Apparently the first round of trials seemed a bit much for our space, so I'll post pics as soon as we have a winner...
