faking the flowers...

Posted Friday, May 11, 2007 2:00 AM

I'm torn between all fake and half fake flowers with real ones mixed in.  Partly this is a DIY laziness issue mixed with being a control freak and not being good a delegating the DIY flowers as intended.  Partly, it was that I found these great silk vanda orchids.. previously in red.. and they really struck me as a good match.

So I now have a whole bunch of green silk vanda orchids.  My current plan is to have two of these on each reception table with a tall vase or real dendrobium orchids (white? green?) in the middle (the vase would also have river stones and the glass based would be wrapped in ti leaves).  Here are my pretty silk flowers struttin' their stuff on the dining room table:

I also picked up my paper for the invite inserts, as well as cello bags and the gift bags for the OOT bags... more on those as I put those together, but everyone is getting a photo of us (a 4x6 out of our e-pics) in the package, and I assembled those tonight (each is matted but not framed).

re: faking the flowers...

Those are gorgeous! You should definitely use them. I think it would look fine to have real & silks together. Those plants look so realistic anyway.

I wanted to let you know I ran across a video on marthastewart.com for making magnets with the Xyron. I'm pretty sure I'm going to use the Xyron. But, I think I'm going to try Martha's way.
