Martha Stewart gone awry...

Posted Friday, July 06, 2007 1:01 AM

...it's amusing to my sister that suddenly, on becoming engaged, I've dug deep down and started channeling some hidden warped crafting madness.  But even though I'll confess to picking up Martha Stewart wedding magazines, I still can't bite entirely into that world without flinching.  I mean, there was a recent suggestion (was it in MS Weddings or elsewhere?) to create your own drop spine box to house all of your RSVPs and keep them organized as they arrive.  Well... not wanting to fool with the mess of a box, and having small RSVP cards, I decided to use that idea to work for me (after all, we are in the process of house renovations and will soon be moving--- the last thing on my mind is RSVPs, but I need to keep those that come in early together).

My solution-- I bought one of these from Paper Source:

..which I will embellish with this sticker on the face:

Inside, I will affix 1 RSVP per page using an adhesive tape runner and I can then make notes regarding that guest (or guests), any gifts received, any table decisions or preferences, and any address changes--and it will all be in one neat place.  And not too full of wedding stuffiness...

Unrelated-- my FI and I both had bad shoe luck this week... although their arrival was prompt, we both ordered shoes too small... his are already in transit back and mine will be (sniff sniff-- they are so hot!) shortly.

With the end in sight (awaiting spools of ribbon, already ordered) for invites, I have started working up the draft program and the table cards.  I'll start making a welcome letter for the OOT guests soon too.... still lots to do and time's flying by!

What a great idea!

Right now, all our RSVPs are in my binder with all the other important wedding information. I figured it'd work best for me to have them all in one place.
