Our guestbook and a search for a fortune toss concept

My family always signed a tablecloth at Thanksgiving, which was the holiday we hosted for all of the extended family. My mom would later embroider all of the names in before the next holiday. I thought I'd take that concept through and apply it to our wedding as well... but once I started thinking about it, logistics might make it difficult -- only one person could sign at a time and it would be bulky to lay out for guests.... so instead, I've purchased 6 sashiko pillow kits. They are printed on one side and blank on the other. I'm going to start embroidering this week so that the design sides are complete prior to the wedding. Then, once everyone has signed and we've sewn the names in, we'll sew the 6 pieces together and add a backing. It's almost like a small, skinny quilt rather than a tablecloth, but I'm calling it a tablecloth anyway.
Here's the pattern and my layout for stitching. I am using DMC (8mm) thread rather than traditional sashiko thread and I like to put my stamp on things so my wee ninja plush toy is what I use as a functioning pin cushion. Regular pin cushions are too boring.

So one other thing we wanted to do was to come up with a fortune toss-- one for the ladies and one for the guys. We wanted something that was fairly neutral-- not tied to marital status or anything of that nature. And we're trying to keep the idea from the original garter/bouquet toss which was essentially sharing the good fortune of the bride and groom (yes, I know, other stuff is rolled into it... but the fortune part was the only thing of interest to us to satisfy) I've been racking my brain for ideas of what to toss and how t do it... I don't like the breakway bouquet... and I'm in need of good ideas. Also, we're trying to come up with the fortunes... maybe some little gadgets, a written fortune (no cookie), a sweet treat and a small illustrated card.
I found this on the web and thought it was funny...

Anyone have other fun fortunes? What would you like to receive in a fortune toss?
