Wedding Week Events...

We have a variety of guests coming from different distances, some of which will arrive very early in the week of our wedding. To celebrate and spend as much time with our guests (and to really ritualize the event of getting married), we have set up a number of designated activities which people can drop into or join us for.
1. First, we are organizing two city walking tours (one each on two different days) based on the highlights of the city our guests nominate. It's a cheap way to expose people to tourist (or non-tourist) sites and to get in some quality chatting.

2. If there is sufficient interest, we'll organize a day (or half day) trip to some of the Sonoma wineries... so far, it's looking like a very small group but for those who are first time Bay area visitors, we thought it would be a nice treat (and gorgeous in September).

3. In some cultures worldwide, bathing is an important pre-wedding activity. I'm not going to do anything that elaborate with oils or fragrances or other body treatments, but I am designating a ladies trip to a local communal bath spot as a nod to purification and preparation for marriage.

4. I love tea and also the diverse cultural offerings of the city. We're not having anything like a tea ceremony, but following the spa morning, I plan to meet up with the guests that are arriving early for some of the fine global tea offerings of the Samovar Tea Lounge-- I loooove the atmosphere and the variety of really cool tea choices.

5. Finally, for those guests who aren't attending the rehearsal dinner, we still wanted to say hello before the big day. We've designated a local bar as a meeting spot for late night drinks and fun to bring people together.
