Week of crazy wedding activities...

...first, let me begin by mentioning how overwhelmed I am by the kind sentiments offered by those around me this week.

It started out with a congratulations from my future mother in law.  We received a celebratory money envelope and I got a cute sun hat.  Below is a picture of something similar (not the actual card), only ours has both a crane and a turtle made of mizhuki cords, as signs of longevity.  It was very sweet, and I'll definitely be able to use the sun hat on our "honeymoon" in Hawaii.

On Saturday, I flew home to Phoenix for three days to see family.  My sister held a bridal shower at the Cafe Zuzu, which is a retro 50s style cafe that is part of the Valley Ho resort.  It was awesome!  I will have more later, but here are a few pictures:

I received some fabulous gifts from people, including one very sentimental vintage tea set which was purchased in Tokyo in 1957 (!)  It almost made me cry-- it was so wonderful!

There was a great honeymoon basket with a bag, coverup, sunglasses, beach towel headband, sunblock, flip flops and other beach items-- very cool! 

 As well as other gifts (I was totally spoiled!).. My sister topped it off by making me some coordinated thank you notes (which I'm getting ready to send off this weekend)!

So after that, I thought it was over but no..... the next morning, my aunt surprised me with a second shower from my dad's family.  I'll wait to show more pics from that, but I just have to post the few I have on my camera-- first the cake table...(complete with an absolutely mouthwatering peach rum cake from Kathy's rum cake)

...and then one of the many awesome food dishes my aunt prepared-- this is a delicious salmon dip (and isn't it so cute?!)

Well...that's enough from now-- not only am I spoiled by my wonderful family and friends, I'm also exhausted... I'll be working on out of town guest booklets and posting a finished ring pillow soon... and a few other things on the horizon... but in the meantime, I'm outta here.....
