Congrats are in order for one of my 'maids

I got a giddy email this morning from Desiree, one of my bridesmaids who is pursuing a Master's degree in Georgia. Last night, right around midnight and just before her birthday, her boyfriend proposed! He gave her a beautiful vintage ring, from the 1930's(she's into that sort of thing).
So. . .I just have to say. . .
Congratulations, Desiree and Henry! 
Funny thing is, she and I had planned a visit just before Christmas, since she hasn't met Will yet, and we haven't seen each other since fall 2006. Apparently Henry is driving down with her, so we'll all get to meet each other.
She and Henry haven't set a date yet, but they are considering a beach wedding about two years from now. (She felt it was necessary to assure me we wouldn't have competing weddings, and she'll still be able to be in our wedding. . .but I'm not worried about it. She has been nothing but awesome the entire time we've known each other. If anything comes up, we can work it out.)
Desiree also asked me to be a bridesmaid for her...and I (happily) accepted. She was quick to tell me she's leaning toward simplicity, and her 'maids won't have many restrictions. Even so, I'm definitely happy to do it. Honored she asked, actually. So it looks like I get to be a bride and a bridesmaid! (Is that technically having my cake and eating it, too? Haha.)
Anyway, I will do everything I can to be there for her when her wedding comes up, and this is just amazing. She and Henry seem to be perfect for each other, so. . . .YAY!!
