Wedding Planning - Wedding Dresses - Wedding Cakes

Hmm, so where to start? Well for starters I have ordered my wedding dress, veil & shoes!! I should have them by the first of the year…I can’t wait!! I also went and got measured for the get-away dress that I won and have also started my treatments at Pure Medi-Spa. J Ya gotta love free stuff!! Lol

On our way to Voodoo James and I stopped off in Baton Rouge for our engagement pictures……and we had a BLAST!!!! Addie is awesome and so much fun to work with. I am looking forward to my bridal session with her next summer and of course the wedding pics. The Monday after Voodoo we went and had a tasting with Chef Bobby and his food is amazing it made the ride back from Kaplan very long. But hey what else would you expect from a Cajun chef!!

On a more recent note this week my blog was chosen as the “blog of the week” on theknot.com. I know it doesn’t mean a whole lot…but hey it made me feel special!! J And well it wouldn’t be wedding planning if something didn’t go array!! It looks like we may be changing the location of the ceremony and reception. Come to find out Acadian Village starts setting up Christmas lights in October. At first I wasn’t too worried about it but after looking at some of the pictures on their site I noticed that they drape the entire outside of the chapel in Christmas lights!! So after speaking with them on the phone today they said that we can stop by in the next few weeks and if we don’t like the look, we can cancel our contract and get our deposit back. So we have started the process all over again. YAY!!!   That’s ok….We will find a better location!! I just know it!!!

The Louisiana Bridal Show - Lafayette, LA

Posted Saturday, November 07, 2009 12:48 PM

Sept. 29, 2009

Oh what a weekend it was!! This past Sunday, James and I went to the LA Bridal Expo and we had a blast!! Yes, I did just say that James went and no, he wasn’t forced to go. Lol    He decided to go after hearing that I wasn’t going because Melanie (my wedding buddyJ) had a family emergency to take care of. What can I say, he’s a keeper!! And believe me he had no problem being the official food and cake tester. But after all that you would think that life couldn’t get any better, right? Well today I received two phone calls, the first was one letting me know that I had won a “get-away” dress from Elegance Plus and the second was from the radio station letting me know that I had won a door prize ($100 gift card) to Pure Skin Medi-Spa!!!! Oh yeah…..LIFE IS GOOD!!!!! I’m sure I’ll end up going to a couple more shows before 10-16-2010,  hopefully they’ll be just as lucky at this one was.

Until next time...

Why the date

July 23, 2009

A lot of people have been asking why October 2010? Well there are a lot of reasons! For starters one of my best friends Melanie is getting married in February and we are taking a week long cruise to Belize, Roaton Island and Cozumel with them. They asked and not once have we thought about not going. It is a very special time for her and Gene and we are thrilled and honored that we get to share this special time with them. However trips can be an investment of sorts. Second, If you know anything about the swimming pool industry you understand that come spring time it can be hard to have a personal life, so I can only imagine how stressed I would be if i also had to put final touches on a wedding during the spring months. And third, have you steped outside in Southern LA during the months of May-August? Yeah it's way too hot to get dressed up! :)   So October 16, 2010 just seemed like a no brainer! That and it should help James remeber the date....lol..just kidding! He's the best!!

Much Love!

thoughts from the groom to be

Posted Saturday, November 07, 2009 12:45 PM

July 4, 2009

I never lived life before i met Tiffany. Oh sure, I experienced life; I went to college, joined the army, traveled the world and came home and in between there were so many adventures and mishaps and life lessons. Yet i lived with this hollow feeling down in my soul that made me feel more like an observer to life than a participant, then I met Tiffany. She made me laugh, understood my sarcasm, brought me out of the shadows and the background and treated me as an equal. Beautiful, loving, caring, such a generous soul; my world is completed by Tiffany and I am honored that she will be my wife. I don't deserve her, but then does any man deserve the love of a good woman? I don't know what i did right in this life to make Tiffany mine, but I thank God everyday that she is in my life.

thoughts from the bride to be

July 1, 2009

As I look back on my life and all the crazy directions it has taken, I would have to say the craziest was when I found my soul mate in Texarkana! When I moved away almost 6yrs ago I never thought that on one of my trips back home that I would meet someone that would trap me with his handsome looks, wonderful conversation and his amazing heart! Who would have thought that our friends would have brought us together without even reliazing it. Well almost, my best friend Jennifer had it all figured out from the get go. She mentioned that we should date after watching us one night at Club Next, we always seemed to disapear from the world when we would talk. And then just a couple of months after dating she said we would be getting married before we knew it. I just ignored her & shh don't let her know I admited she was always right! :)

Our first year together was an adventure to say the least. We started off having to deal with my medical problems and the insane amount of pain that I was always in. But when I look back on it, the way James handled everything, really said a lot about him and I love him for it. I can remember the first time I really started to think that this was becoming something real and that was at Edge Fest. Edge Fest is a large outdoor concert held in Dallas every year and well my pain had been getting pretty bad but we already had the tickets and there was no way I was going to let concert tickets go to waste!! Me being me, I was trying my best to push past the pain but standing and walking all day really just made the pain too much to handle. Well, my hard headedness almost landed me passed out in the pit! So not a good thing!! But James was there to pull me out just as I was loosing all ability to focus and stand....He's my hero!! :) He was so worried and the look on his face made me even more worried than I already was. It was really sweet but I spent the rest of the concert trying to convince him that I was ok, well as much as I could be.

So between medical issues, my mamaw passing away and just everyday drama our first year was interesting. But it proved that no matter what happens our love continues to grow and makes us stronger!

As events unfold I will try my best to keep everyone updated! Thank you for your love, support and for wanting to share in our special day with us.

XOXO
