Meaning, once again, I am older than Nathan... cradle robber? Anyhow, all of my family sent me lovely greetings, and I was able to talk to each of them on the phone.

The biggest surprise was what Nathan had waiting for me. He has given me three guesses every day for the past week to try to figure out what he got me for my birthday. I was both right and wrong with my guesses. My first guess was that Nathan got me Breaking Dawn Part 1 because it had come out recently and he knows I liked the books. I was wrong because the second part of my gift was quite a surprise.

Several months ago, on a special date, Nathan gave me pearl earrings to wear. it took me several hours before I realized that they were real pearls. For my birthday he got me a necklace to match.

Of course I love them both, and I plan on wearing them on our wedding day! I hope you all can see the necklace and earring combo soon!

-Amy

A Veil in the Mail

Hello Everyone,

This week my mother did me a wonderful favor and sent her wedding veil to St. Louis for the wedding. Nathan pointed out just the other day that our actual ceremony is four months away, and I have only seen the veil once before. So now is the time to make sure that the veil and the dress go together, as well as shorten the veil so it will not be dragging yards behind me ;-).

It was a little difficult cutting the veil because I was worried about making it too short. My grandmother on my mother's side made it for my mother's wedding, so it is irreplaceable and very special. I have not decided on the length, but it did make it more manageable now that it only goes down to my feet. Since there is limited floor space here in my apartment, it must have been quite funny to see me out in the hallway on the 7th floor trying to cut the veil.

-Amy

Save the Date, Pt. 2 and Family Reunion

Well, the Save the Date cards came in yesterday, and yes, they look as good as we had pictured when we ordered them online. That was a little bit of a concern with designing and ordering online, but hey, it all worked out in the end. So now comes the fun part of addressing, stuffing envelopes, etc. etc. etc. ;-)

This past weekend AA and I drove up to Chicago for the Jaxon/Jatzcak family reunion. It was nice, hosted in one of the suburbs by Uncle Cecil and Aunt Diane, who outdid themselves in making sure everyone felt at home and well-fed. But the thing that everyone will probably remember most from this reunion is the surprise joint bridal shower that the family threw for Amyann and Julie. The two of them and I all thought that we were going in for the cousins' meeting to plan for next year's reunion, but Mrs. Freberg, Aunt Kathy, and Mary Beth all did an excellent job of stalling us and redirecting our attention until we went down to the conference room. Our reactions to everyone waiting for us and yelling surprise were:

Amyann "We're not the only ones late..."

Me: "Why is everyone staring at us?"

Julie (after everyone yelled surprise): "Who are we surprising?"

After we got past the initial shock, Amyann and Julie got to sit down with their "Bride to Be" badges pinned on, and received gifts from everyone there, and even from some people who couldn't make it. Thank you all for you overwhelming generosity! It is so touching, to see how welcoming and loving the Jaxons are!

Until next time!

-Nathan

Save the Date!

This week Nathan and I ordered our Save the Date notifications. She was able to give us some good suggestions on how to make things look nice. We finally ended up going with the most simple design we could find and hope that everyone might have a chance to check our website for more information.

I went through our website this week in order to make sure that everything was as up to date as possible.
