Bridesmaid Attire

Since the venue that we chose, provides linens in white, ivory and champagne, I am highly considering having my bridal party wear black dresses, black heels, and then jewelry sets (which I will purchase and give to them as part of their gift from me) for the wedding, and then let them put on black flip-flops during the reception (I know how killer heels are considering I wear them every stinking day to work!).  I will have my best friend as my Matron of Honor, my sister will be next in line, my other very good friend will be next, and then my niece (who will be 16 by the time of the wedding) will be next.  My youngest niece (who will be 5, almost 6 because her birthday is later that month) will be the flower girl.  Since all of the bridesmaids, except for 1, are big busted and a little "heavy", I am thinking of asking them to find a dress that is solid black, something that covers the chest and something that is knee length.  My reasoning for this is because my Matron of Honor, AKA - my best friend of 21 years, was in her mothers wedding this past July and for some reason the girls picked out hot pink dresses that were strapless, showed a lot of cleavage, were very short....and as much as I love my best friend and her sister (who was also in the wedding)....the dresses did not flatter either of them AT ALL!  I, being myself, pointed this out after they were out of the dresses.  They both agreed.  Apparently, their mother threw a fit for them to get those dresses.  So, they finally said ok.  But the hated them.  ANYWAYS, so I think that is what I will have my bridal party go with.  Of course, the flower girl will wear a white dress like me.  We might look for something where she can have a little bit of either black or champagne in her dress for a little "pop".  I also figure that the black dress will be good for my girls so that they can re-wear them for special occasions where a "little black dress" is needed.  Below is a picture of one of my favorites from David's Bridal....
