The Cake

My favorite, local baker quoted me a cake that will serve 100 guests, for $270. I don't think this is a bad price at all. Especially since I know how wonderful their cakes taste! This is for a buttercream frosted cake (I hate fondant!). The frosting can be any color of my choice. This also includes any flavor of filling (if we want it), any design that we want on the cake (as long as it's buttercream and not fondant for the design work), and I think that's it. Delivery & set-up is not more than $50. So, I am excited because this is cheaper than what I thought it would be.
So, I am thinking of having a simple round tiered cake, with white buttercream frosting, black ribbon around the bottom of each tier, with dots all around the bottom of the ribbon, and our last initial in black on the center tier OR a cake topper in silver with our last initial. I can't quite decide if I want to save the money and not get a cake topper or not.
