Sometimes I consider starting a class that would teach people exactly how much their life will change after having a baby. So many people have NO CLUE how different their life will be...
My body is the change of the moment: Before I had Brayden, I was of average weight and yo-yo'ed around 10 lbs. I am only 4'11'' so every pound I gained or lost was noticable but when I was at the lower end of the 10 lb yo-yo I looked very slim. Even when I was heavier I looked pretty good because my weight went to my boobs and butt and my waist was still tiny. I ballooned 50 lbs when I was pregnant and still have about 20 lbs to lose that will not budge. My whole body shape has changed... My waist is no longer tiny and I have all this loose skin around my abdomen that I never ever had before and my breasts are somehow smaller than they have ever been even though I didn't breastfeed. I find myself needing a wonderbra and a girdle at the same time, what the hell lol. I doubt that I will ever look the same even if I lose the rest of the weight.
Just needed to vent!!!

I've been lurking and posting the occasional question on The Knot, but have yet to really share much about myself. So here goes: My name is Gina and I live in Massachusetts with my Fiance Matt, our 5 month old son, Brayden and the best looking cat you will ever see, fittingly named Handsome! Matt and I got engaged in November, about a month after our son was born and I have been in "wedding mode" ever since. Let me start by saying that Matt and I are polar opposites on MANY things, the first thing being how social we are. I am a complete loner who can count on less than one hand how many friends I have and he has more friends than I could even count. Needless to say, our idea of the perfect wedding is completely different.
As expected, he wanted a huge local wedding with all of our friends and family in attendance, and I wanted to elope somewhere like Jamaica or Cabo. The only thing that was important to me is my dress, ring and how awesome our photos looked. Shallow much? haha. But he couldn't imagine his day without at least a few of his friends.
After going back and forth and changing our plans a million times we finally agreeded to do a small wedding with our closest friends and family. Final guest count: around 25. Orlando FL is where we decided to have the wedding for a few reasons... First, we are planning to do this in either November or January so the weather will be MUCH too cold locally, and second if we have the wedding at home he will feel obligated to invite everyone and a small wedding will easily turn into a 300 person wedding. Seriously!
We just booked our trip to Florida in April to start making wedding plans...We will definitely be picking a venue. This is too big of a check (literally) to pick without seeing it... But all of the other vendors will be picked upon the recommendations of the Knotties. We are staying at the amazing Peabody Hotel so we are taking a look at their facilities as well as the Ritz Carlton Grand Lakes, Hyatt Grand Cypress and Swan Dolphin Resort.
I know one of those will be the perfect venue for our wedding!!!
On another note: The only thing that is officially done and paid for is my wedding gown. I picked a Maggie Sottero gown (Monalisa Royale). It should arrive at the bridal shop in a couple weeks. Despite this being the only official "check" to my wedding checklist I am surprisingly on the ball... I haven't signed any contracts yet due to a venue/date not being secured but I have selected a bakery for our cake, picked out bridesmaid dresses, picked a florist, and picked wedding colors/favors to fit each venue possibility (I have alot of free time on my hands as you can see lol).
If you can't tell by now, my Fiance has put the ball in my court for the wedding... Like most men, if he had it his way we would probably we having a backyard barbeque or in a sports bar...He could care less about flowers and wedding favors!!!
I'm trying hard not to become a total Bridezilla, but I am starting to see that side come out already...haha
