new wedding updates

Hello!

A few things have changed with our wedding. We were initially going to have our reception at Miller Park. Turns out that it ended up costing us more than we expected so we had to nix that idea. I will admit, I wasn't happy at first, but now that I think about it, its for the best. There is also less stress for Mike and I. We are now having the reception at Davians in Menomonee Falls. I have heard gret things about it and I'm really excited! It is classy and it will be perfect!

As far as getting all of our vendors straight, we have done that! We have: church, reception spot, photographer, DJ, florist and a baker. Its a nice feeling to know that I have everyone reserved for the big day and I don't have to worry about finding anything else.

I am going to start my DIY projects soon. I actually started with a project a while back and it was my veil. I absolutely love it! I have already started my centerpieces which are 10 in tall cylinder vases with a floralyte in the bottom and a submerged flower. They will be placed on a circular mirror with candles. The next one will be the invitations. I ordered all of the paper that I need for $130!! I thought that was a great deal! I am also going to be making programs, favors and a hairpiece to wear at the reception. I love DIY things and I have a lot of fun with it!

Getting started!

Posted Wednesday, October 14, 2009 8:45 AM

Well hellllo! Mike and I had a long engagement and now its really time to start making our plans! We officially are getting married on June 19, 2010. We have chosen Christ Church in Bay View for the ceremony and the Metavante Club at Miller Park for our reception. I couldn't be more happier! We recently got our engagment pictures taken and I think they turned out really nice! I am starting to feel better now that I have some things taken care of. We met with a photographer the other day and we have decided to book her as well. We went to a paper store and found pre-made pocket fold invitations which made me super happy since I had plans to make them all myself! That is going to save me a lot of time! I still have my heart set on doing as much DIY as possible, so I am going to be making the inserts and response cards, table decor and favors. In my next blog I will give a little background on how we came up with a theme for the wedding!
