men's engagement ring

I realized today how selfish I have been...especially about what I want.  I was fretting and fretting about how I could afford to buy the dress I want, for a wedding that's over a year away, and how can I get a ring that's prettier, sparklier, and just more wowser than what we can afford....all me, me, me.  When in the long run, I should be more focused on how can I buy the man that I love his ring?  And what's even more neat to me is that he's so excited to wear it, that he's not even going to wait for the wedding.  He is going to have an engagement ring as well!  I love it!  why not?  At first I choked a laugh when I heard him say he couldn't wait to put it on, well before we got married, because I thought to myself, what man wears an engagement ring??  Come to find out it's becoming more and more common I guess.  I think it's a great idea and in my opinion, humble as it may be, I think it shows a lot more depth of feeling about his bride to be and his impending marriage than a man who wants to wait to don this symbol of being forever spoken for.  There's a certain pride in it.  It makes me feel very special that he's so anxious to show everyone that he's engaged, and he engaged to me!  :)
