It's been a while!!

So I haven't been as good at updating everyone as I had hoped, but I do have some good news!  I have officially started my Masters program and just finished my 3rd week of classes.  Jeff and I set up our own phone account and I now have a new (local) number so please please please put it in your phones: 541-604-4569.  Also, if you have a couple minutes give me a call!  I haven't been keeping in touch with everyone like I would like to be and for the second time this year I have lost everyone's numbers because my old phone wigged out.

As for wedding details, my mom is in town with some friends and set up an appointment to meet with a caterer Friday morning and I REALLY hope it works out.  This is the last major piece that needs to get pinned down.  I am contacting the retal place for our chairs and things for the ceremony/reception this week.  I don't think I ever let people know who all is in our wedding party so here they are!  On Jeff's side it's best man: Peter, Robbie, Alex, Kyle, Cory, (and his sisters) Traci and Lindsey.  On my side maid of honor: Juliann, Rheanne, Danyell, Kelsey, Brooke (and my brothers) Ryan and Jason.  We are super blessed to have them all supporting us...and our day is going to be a blast with them all there!!

We have a honeymoon location.  Due to huricane season and me wanting to go somewhere tropical we chose Hawaii.  We leave Sunday and come back Sunday.  Jeff worked very hard on planning it!  We also have where we are going for our wedding night...but NO ONE gets to know!! ;)  Karen Bates is throwing a shower for me on the 20th, hopefully if you are in the valley area I will get to see you that weekend!  Hope all is well...please give me a call sometime!  ~Bethany

So much accomplished

I picked out a dress I thought I would like for the bridesmaids on Nordstrum.com and had it mailed.  Kelsey Nystul (one of my bridesmaids) tried it on for me and we think it is going to work!  I will be letting the rest of my bridesmaids know how to order theirs.  They are a knee length black strapless dress that we are adding colored sashes to.  Very classy.

My family stayed at Black Butte over Memorial Day weekend and my mom stayed a couple days longer to help pin down some key players in the wedding.  Both of my parents were able to see the facility that the reception and ceremony will be held (in Redmond).  Over Tuesday and Wednesday we were able to pin down our Photographer (Stott Shots) and our Florist who are both in Redmond and amazingly helpful!  Jeff and I have an appointment next wednesday to cake taste and will make that decision hopefully then.  The only major piece we are a little nervous about is the cater...the fist choice caterer may be busy that day, they will let us know when they know.  We may need to look for a second choice.  Other then that, we're doing pretty good.  Jeff has been working on honeymoon plans with the help of his family and travel agent.

Just a reminder, the big day is September 20th and we are thinking around 1 or 1:30p.  Big Smile

Wedding Dress!

Posted Tuesday, May 20, 2008 8:52 AM

I spent the last week trying different wedding dresses.  Kelsey Nystul (one of my bridesmaids) went over to Portland with me on Sunday and we visited two bridal shops and a possible ceremony/reception site.  The dresses at these places were incredible and it was so hard to pick.  Everyone always told me that once I put the right one on I would KNOW...but it was a little harder then that.  By the end, I knew I had found one that I really love, but that Jeff would love as well.  I made the mistake of looking through a magazine with Jeff last week and he was showing me dresses he likes and dislikes.  That just made me worry more while I was trying on dresses.  I know he'll love the one I picked.  We found it at Ana's Bridal in Lake Oswego.  I called Traci (Jeff's older sister) and she was able to come by to see "the one."  It was really nice to have her there as well as my mom and Karen Bates!  Thanks to all who were there supporting me!

As for the location, we looked at Beckenridge Vinyard in Dallas, OR.  It was really really great, so Jeff and I will be trying to make a decision on where the wedding is going to be this week.  We are really wanting to get married on September 20th and that is the only Saturday they still have available in September.  The other facility we are looking at is in Redmond.  I will let you all know when we get this other big detail figured out.

The Hunt

Posted Monday, May 12, 2008 1:43 PM

My goal in designing our webpage is that people who want to stay up to date on where we're at in planning our wedding can easily find out!  As many of you know, I am not the best with the phone or keeping track of who I have told what, but I do want all of you "in the know."

Top Two Questions:

When are we getting married & where are we getting married?

We do not have an official date picked out yet.  Neither Jeff or I want to have a long engagement and I have always wanted part of the wedding outside so we are leaning toward September.  As for the location, we are open to both the Valley and Central Oregon, but are weighing the pros and cons for both!!

Today I am off to try on dresses with Kelsey, Maureen & McKenzie in Bend.  Kelsey is coming over to the Valley with me this coming weekend to try on dresses in Portland and view a couple facilities (Sunday & Monday).

That's as far as the planning has gotten at this point...
