Reality TV

Hello, my name is Kristin and I'm addicted to reality TV.

And not just any reality TV, the really bad stuff. The stuff they show on VH1. The trashy stuff where every one acts like an idiot with no manners or respect for any other human being except for the person who's affection they're trying to win. Last night I watched the season  finale of I Love New York 2. I watched the whole season, I also watched the first season, and both seasons of Flavor of Love, AND Charm School with the Flavor of Love girls. I absolutely can't stand New York, but there's something about her in the shows she's in that I can't help but watch. It's like watching a car wreck, you know it's bad, but you can't help but stare anyway. New York is full of all sorts of bad acting, I think that's part of the reason why I like watching her so much, I can't help but laugh at how she over reacts to everything and thinks it's good acting.

Tonight is the finale of A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila. Anthony enjoys watching this show with me, and we also watch it every week (did I mentioned he's thrilled the New York is finally over?).  We both feel that Tila has been following her feelings more so than what we assume the producers of the are telling her. She seems to get rid of the people causing the drama as soon as it's apparent that it wasn't just a one time occurrence for them. This is the main reason why we think the show is rumored to not be going a second season. Or maybe perhaps its because someone really does with a Shot at Love with Tila Tequila, and the shot still continues now? Nahhhh, this is reality TV, unless your Trista and Ryan (which, I did not watch that show by the way, it's not nearly trashy enough to keep my interest), your chances at finding real love on TV are slim to none.

What on earth am I going to do when the effects of the writer's strike reaches reality TV?

re: Reality TV

LOL!  You know they have to have writers, or at least producers egging them on, sitting on their shoulders.  Maybe we love to watch because it's stuff that we would never do in real life.  Or maybe because it's "real."  I enjoy the Tila show though, she seems so down-to-earth and thoughtful.

My question is: how can they have two seasons, if the goal is to find "true love?"  Seriously, all the contestants start to tear up and confess how much they love the show star, and then what?  Season 2?
