Snow Day!

Posted Wednesday, February 13, 2008 7:33 AM

Yesterday we had a snow day and instead of sleeping in like I usually would on such an occasion, I decided to stay out of bed and get some things finished instead! It turned into a pretty busy day for me and I got quite a bit accomplished!

The first thing I did was finish the last two table numbers I had left to assemble. They weren't difficult but they were time consuming. What do you think?

Once those were done, I decided it was time to add them to my bio, so I did a little bio updating as well. Click here to see my bio.

After that was completed, FI and I sat down to watch TV together and we worked on attaching our favor tags to the take out boxes we're using. We got them all done except for about 25 of the original 150 and that's only because we ran out of ribbon.  This project was a bit on the boring side and I took frequent breaks so I didn't get it finished until much later in the day.

I haven't decided yet if I'll be staying home all day today, I'm already going in about an hour late. The weather has been nasty here and the roads are not pretty. My drive is pretty long and on windy/hilly roads so I'm never optimistic about driving on them in bad weather conditions. All but a handful of the schools in our area and in the county I work in are closed for the day as they also were yesterday. I'm not sure if I should take their advice and stay home too or not.

If I do stay home all day today, I plan to work the album I'm making for our photo booth. Should be another rather simple, and hopefully quick DIY!

re: Snow Day!

Love, love the table numbers.  They'll be so romantic and soft.  Also love the invitations.  The outside is my favorite, I think that's how we'll do ours.  I've had my eye on Knottie Chezmoniques for awhile, hers are similiar.  I have a few questions:

Did you put your postcard and magnet in an envelope and send them out?  Or did you attach the magnet to the postcard in some way?  Doesn't that change the postage rate?

I didn't find anything on the DIY photobooth.  Basically, you need a tripod and a remote clicker to take the picture.  That's the easy part.  The hard part is setting up everything to print.  That was over my head.  And too much hardware for me!

re: Snow Day!

We put the postcards and the magnets in one envelope together. The mailing included 3 things in the envelope, obviously the postcard and magnet.... and we had the over sized magnets that were about the same size as the postcard.... and we also had a small business card size insert that our hotel provided with hotel block info. It didn't cost us any extra postage to mail everything in the same envelope.

I love ChiMonique's bio! She's one of our local knotties and is such a DIY inspiration to all of us. I met her when I picked up my jewelry order from her, she's such a super nice lady!

We did a lot of DIY or low budget alternatives for things at our wedding. I've already blogged about
