Poll: Favorite place in Italy?

Posted Tuesday, June 12, 2007 2:08 PM

A new hotel opened in Venice a few days ago -- the Hilton Molino Stucky Venice is a restored 19th-century flour mill which has the city's largest spa and its first rooftop pool. It seems like people who have traveled throughout Italy always have particularly strong feelings about the best area to visit. What do you think? What's your favorite place in Italy?

I absolutely LOVED Ravello. It is a very beautiful, quaint place atop the Amalfi Coast. Very romantic, too and perfect for a honeymoon spot! We stayed at Palazzo Sasso - it was definitely a splurge but sooo worth it.

Lori, I can't believe you stayed at Palazzo Sasso -- we got a drink there on our honeymoon and I became obsessed with the name. I have to say my favorite place in Italy is Taormina, Sicily. It was such a fun, charming beach town with amazing restaurants that were a total steal. I do love Venice though -- there's something so romantic about getting completely lost in the alleyways. And that hotel looks insane!
