The Knot Assistant Editor Anja Winikka recently took a trip to St. Thomas -- here's what she had to say about her stay:
"As soon as we arrived at the Ritz-Carlton St. Thomas, tired and exhausted from airplane delays, all our cares disappeared and I knew we were in for some serious R&R. The grounds are lush with vegetation, the beach pristine, and the rooms -- well, our room was most definitely larger than our one-bedroom Brooklyn apartment (think, plush bed, marble tub, and private balcony).
"During the day, you can check out snorkeling equipment and explore the reefs (with the $45 resort fee you get all the snorkeling equipment, kayaks, and kite sailboats, and paddle boats to check out and use), and even get certified to scuba dive at the hotel's Aquatic Center. Those of you not up for the sand, the Ritz's infinity-edge pool and Jacuzzi overlook the beach and blue waters.
"Every night, the food never ceased to impress -- there's a fine dining restaurant called Bleuwater and a more laid-back oceanfront grill and fresh sushi lounge, all
headed up by executive chef, French Culinary-trained and Hawaiian influenced Jasper Schneider.
"Before our departure, we hopped aboard a sunset cruise on the hotel's catamaran, the Lady Lyndsey -- the perfect way to end a perfect stay. Tip: don't pass up the opportunity to try the ship's signature drink, a guava colada.
"Honeymooners looking for a U.S.V.I. destination, stay at the Ritz -- this place is serious about service and luxury."
