Week 7

So This has been a stressful week. ok. It was a very scary and stressful week for us both as well as the entire Fort Hood community. Not only does Jason work on the base but we also live there. We are very grateful that none of Jason's soldiers where hurt especially because they had been in that processing center earlier in the week as part of the process of coming back from Korea. Several Soldiers from Jason's unit were outside the building when shots were fired but luckily are safe. For about an hour i was unable to reach Jason and was very scared. All i keep thinking is I can not do Baby V alone. To have an incident like this at Fort Hood has shocked us all especially because it was a fellow soldier and an officer. Jason is very angry that a fellow soldier could do something so unthinkable. For us in the military community we always expect that tragedy can strike and always expect it from overseas. Soldiers dying in the military is not uncommon but to have it happen at home and not a war zone is horrendous.  We always felts safe on base and for the first time had that safety challenged. There are many families in our community who have lost so much on what started out as a routine day in Central Texas.

On 11/6 we went for our first ob appointment. My bp was high and they are going to monitor it closely. We got to see the baby for the first time. Everything was normal heart rate was 160 and Baby V is due 6/21/2010! I decided to take a nutrition durring pregnancy class.
