9 MONTHS UPDATE!!!

Posted Monday, July 19, 2010 7:16 PM

It has been sooo long since I have last blogged.  The time is getting close and only 9 more days.  I'm SO excited and can't wait to meet this little human being inside me and see what her personality is like and what she looks like and whose qualities she has and takes after amongst her dad and me.

This last month we have had 3 doctor's appointments July 2, July 9, and July 16.  At the first appointment on July 2 I had not dilated any but our baby is in position (head down) and at the July 9 apppointment I had dilated 1/2 a cm and the last appointment on July 16 I was 1cm dilated.  I have gained a total of 20 lbs thus far... my last appointment I weighed 174lbs.

We have done so much this past month with getting ready for our daughter to come into our lives.  I was so overwhelmed with boxes in our apartment that I rented a storage unit this past weekend.  Now we actually have a dining room table in the dining room and our apartment feels more "homey".  We finally set up the baby's room (which is a corner of our room) and put up her curtains, crib, changing table, washed all her clothes, made her a spot in the closet for her clothes and set up her swings and bouncer.  Thanks to the help of Grandma, Dad, Aunt Ashlie and Juan!!  I couldn't have done it without them.

I stopped working on July 15.  I now officially have off for 2 months at Fugro and I will see how long I will go with ReMax.  I'm so happy with my decision on when I took off because I needed time to be "in the moment" and soak this all in and I feel so liberated and I have only had off 4 days!!!  This is the best decision I could have made for myself.

We still don't have a name picked out for our little girl.  We have a few choices and I hope when we see her we will know!!!

In the next 9 days I want to clean out our closet (get rid of stuff) and set up the car seat, crib mobile, and glider and close out our registry at Babies R Us to get the last essentials that we need.  Oh yeah, and I NEED to take defensive driving because I will NOT have time once she is born. AGH!!!!  Always something to do!!

My baby girl's movements have been SO active this last month too.  The doctor felt at this last visit and told me where her body parts were positioned because I wanted to know what I kept feeling and it is her butt that I keep feeling balling up under my right rib and after every meal she moves that thing like no other. :)  Oh, and sleeping has gone to hell about a month ago.  My sleeping habits are so off its ridiculous.  lol.  Only the beginning though.

Nine days left and I can't wait!!  I am so anxious to meet my baby girl!!!

8 MONTHS UPDATE!!!

Posted Sunday, June 13, 2010 11:51 AM

WOW!!! That's the emotions I am feeling right now (Agh!!!).

We had our 8th appointment on June 4, 2010 and I only gained 2lbs at 32 weeks preggo!  This is awesome news for me since at my last 2 week visit I gained 6lbs.  Now I am weighing in at 167lbs.  The baby's heart rate was 133 (anything below 120 is worry-some) and my uterus grew from 30" to 33" so that means the baby is growing and it's not just me this time.  Smile

I also had my friend's baby shower on June 5.  My mom, Ashlie, Stephanie, Nikki and Sarah threw me a shower.  This was so nice and beautiful and even Matt made it in time to open the gifts!  The baby shower had a brunch theme since it started at 11AM and we had so many fruits, cupcakes and casseroles.  My friend Miki (that works with me at ReMax) got a special gift for me; it was a James Avery necklace with a Mother's Love charm on it.  I guess I had been voicing a lot at ReMax about how I wanted a nice necklace to signify this moment in time.  We also got a high chair, a vibrating bouncer, my diaper bag, and some outfits and gift cards.  Oh, and I can't forget the best gift thus far, Aunt Ashlie bought the whole bedding set for our baby girl.  YAY!!!  Even the extras like the curtains and valence.  Thanks to all who came and made this occasion such a memorable one for us Smile

On June 13 I finally ordered our daughter's crib set.  We were able to purchase this with all the gift cards we had received.  That was very helpful.  So now it looks like we will be putting the room together shortly along with the bedding set when they arrive.

Grandma and Grandpa Harrell got news that they will be moving in the next couple of months so now we will have a nice, fun place to visit and spend holidays at.  I can't wait!!

We have pictures coming up this Saturday, June 19 and our next appointment is June 18.  Our baby girl is almost here and I'm getting really nervous.  A good nervous, one that I just want to be the best mom to her and I hope she loves me as I love her already (and I haven't even met her, that's amazing)!!

Seven Months Update!!

Posted Saturday, May 29, 2010 2:32 PM

There has been SO much going on this month.  Since our last visit with the Dr. we had another visit on May 21, 2010 (since we are now seeing the Dr. every 2 weeks) and I gained 6lbs in 2 weeks Sad.  Since my uterus did not grow any since the last visit it was ALL ME who gained the weight.  lol!!  Dr. Rao was not worried since I didn't gain in the beginning and my sugar test came back fine.

We have also taken 3 parenting classes within this past month!  We attended Breast Feeding Basics, Infant CPR, and Prepared Child Birth.  These classes were so informative!!!!  Matt seemed to learn more than I did in breastfeeding and managed to knock the fake baby's head off in Infant CPR (oops)!  But on a serious note, I'm really glad we attended these classes since we have no previous knowledge or experience.  I am so grateful that Matt went to all these classes with me and we got to experience this together!!

Within this month we have also picked out the baby's pediatrician, Dr. Sabagh with Kelsey Seybold and we have picked out the day care Kids R Kids on Westheimer Parkway.  I loved it when I went there and they have an awesome curriculum and a very clean, positive atmosphere.Yes

Our daughter is starting to be intense in her actions (moving & kicking) and Matt can feel her a lot more now.  She is very active at night and right after I eat.  Sweets are my favorite thing now, but I haven't had any major cravings besides when something sounds good to eat I need to eat it!!

I was thinking I was going to get to rest for the next month, but it looks as though we have the family/friends baby shower on June 5, pictures Matt and I are taking on June 19, and putting together the baby's room.  Maybe I will rest the month after :).  I'm still working both my jobs and debating on when I will take off of ReMax (I think I need my weekends to sleep before the baby gets here!!).

Experiencing Nauseous Feeling again!!

Posted Saturday, May 15, 2010 11:53 AM

On May 11 and throughout the week I'm starting to feel nauseous again!  Not a cool feeling... just as you get excited about how good you feel it quickly turns around.  Hopefully this will not keep up (fingers crossed).

This past week I have also had hormonal issues (never knew the true meaning of pregnancy and being hormonal until now).  I have been so emotional lately but luckily Matt has been around to hear my outburst and cries and to reassure me everything will be ok.  Along with this I have experienced other "pressure" issues and Matt was very good at taking care of me.  Thanks babe!!

Sixth Appointment - May 7, 2010

Posted Saturday, May 15, 2010 11:33 AM

Our seven month appointment was recently and we were anxiously waiting to hear the update of our baby.  Matt got his hair shaved off this day too.  He looks SO HOT!!!

The update was such wonderful news!  Our daughter is growing just as expected and she almost doubled in size she is now in the 27th percentile (from the 15th)!!  My glucose test came back normal and everything looks good.  I also gained 5lbs, now I am weighing 159Zip it!, but I am ok with that as long as my baby continues to grow!!

I am definitely feeling pregnant now!  Ever since I became 7 months pregnant I have pressure now that the Dr. says there is nothing to do about.  I'm feeling more movement now and her movements are more intense especially at bedtime when she decides to be more active.

The doctor has also advised us to pre register for the hospital and to take four child birthing classes: infant cpr, life with baby, labor and delivery, and breastfeeding.

Now we look forward to these classes, setting up our home for the baby, select pediatrician, daycare, and doctor visits every 2 weeks up until 36 weeks!!!

 Getting CLOSER!!!

2nd Ultrasound ... Check up on baby

Posted Saturday, May 15, 2010 11:23 AM

April 30, 2010 I had a second ultrasound to check up on the baby and make sure she is growing properly.  She was not too active during this visit so we weren't able to get a good profile picture since she wouldn't lift her chin.  It was so neat to see her again!!!  I was so excited for this appointment!  Her heart rate was 142 and they also confirmed she was a girl!  I can't wait to meet her!!!

 Mommy LOVES you already!

MY FIRST BABY SHOWER- FUGRO CONSULTANTS, INC.

Posted Saturday, May 15, 2010 11:11 AM

On April 21, 2010 Fugro threw me a baby shower.  It was a bit early because it was combined with 2 other employees (Abhishek and Scott) whose wives are having babies as well.  Abhi is due June 19 and Scott is due September 28.

The baby shower was SO nice.  We got so many fun, new exciting outfits, toys, and a swing that I know our little girl will enjoy!!!

 Thank you FUGRO!!!

Fifth appointment- April 9, 2010

Posted Saturday, May 15, 2010 10:40 AM

At our 6 month appointment Dr. Rao gave us an update on our ultrasound pictures that were taken at our 5 month check up.  The Dr. said our baby was a little on the small side but completely normal (anything between 10 and 90 percentile is normal) she is at the 15th percentile.  Due to this she wants us to schedule another ultrasound before our 7 month appointment to make sure the baby is growing as expected.  Her heart rate was 143 and I finally weighed what I did pre-pregnancy 154lbs (got down to 147lbs).

I am also getting more of an appetite this week and starting to feel really tired and I get really full at night to where it is harder to fall asleep.
