Before I start with what my actual post is about. I don't find that I use the blog so much. I always find myself posting on the boards instead when something happens.
But I do have some great news to share so I'll just post it here, and I've also posted on some of the boards about it.
We booked our Ceremony and our Reception locations!! Woohoo! We are going to be getting married at the Royal Botanical Gardens in the Royal Court at 3:00pm on June 11, 2011. Then we will be doing photos there as well right after the ceremony. We will be heading to Marquis Gardens in Ancaster for our reception. We are having it in their Tiffany Ballroom, and I'm so excited! It is a beautiful location. It even has a licensed balcony/deck where guests can chill and relax. Everything is included in the pricing... I don't have to worry about a thing! All decor, food, open bar, clean up, set up, linens, etc. I'm insanely happy about that!
The lady at the reception hall gave me tones of business cards for businesses they recommend for wedding stuff, so I'm just checking them out now. Other then that I'm trying to just take a break right now and enjoy Christmas. I am totally not prepared for it, so I need to get on that.
Thanks for reading! :P

For the last week and a bit I've been emailing with many different venues. I'm pretty sure I emailed 9 different venues, and from those 9, only 4 have written me back. I that that is honestly pretty sad. You would think that they would want business!? I guess I enjoy it when people are prompt. That means a lot to me when it's something so important to me.
One venue is already booked for the date I want, one is way to expensive. The other 2 are very good possibilities!
I got a response back from the Marquis Gardens in Ancaster. I'm very impressed with everything they have done so far. The lady I was emailing with was the only one to congratulate me on my engagment. I was impressed with that...LOL :) I would really like to have them as my reception site. It's very modern there, and I think it suits us really well; and their wedding package is really impressive. A lot of stuff is included in their price, so that's great for us! We have an appointment to go and see this venue this Wednesday. I'm super excited, and can't wait to go there. If all goes well, I would like to book the venue this Wednesday to insure that I'll get the date I want. That would lift a huge weight off my chest!
The other place that replied to me is the Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington. It is so beautiful there, and there are so many different "gardens" there, so that is nice. We can hopefully have different looking pictures because of that. I would ideally love to have my wedding ceremony there with the wedding photos after or before. I haven't decided yet, do I want to have a traditional wedding where the groom and I see eachother first at the alter, or at photos.
We have time to figure all that out, but I'm really glad that things have fallen into place like this already. I'll let you know how things go!

This is my first blog post on theknot. I'm positive there will be many more to come. It will be a great stress outlet, to just vent!
I just got engaged to my boyfriend of 4 years on November 7, 2009. We aren't going to be getting married for a little while. But I have fallen in love with a date, so I have to get on the task of finding a location. We will be getting married on June 11, 2011. I'm super excited, but also really nervous about wedding planning. It sounded so great before I actually really started. I'm having a huge trouble picking a location. There are so many reception halls in Hamilton that it's so hard to pick just one. On top of that my mom keeps telling me to just go to the islands and get married on the beach. Yeah, that sounds awesome. But I actually want guests at my wedding, and most of my FI's family I can't see travelling like that. They aren't beachy people. So I'm very certain that I'll just stay local for my wedding. I would feel much better with the planning and everything.
My first and most important task is to find a venue! So on the search I go!
