Our NYC Trip

I was born in New York and have always considered myself a New York girl, even though I eventually moved to Florida for college. While in college, I met Jason. Funny, sweet, and adorable -- my perfect match. We had been dating for almost two years when he had to go to New York City for training at the end of July 2006. I wanted to visit New York City as well, so I decided to go with him.

We were scheduled to fly up on a Saturday, but we missed our flight. We got on the next one and landed that afternoon. We spent the weekend exploring the city, shopping, and eating. On Monday we were planning to go to Rockefeller Center to watch the filming of The Today Show. Jason woke me up at 5:30 a.m. (so early!!) to go to the taping. He tried to get me to shower and do my hair and dress nicely, but I was NOT having it. I threw on clothes; he walked me the few blocks from Times Square to Rockefeller Center and got me a bagel and coffee on the way.

The Proposal

We were standing in the crowd, and the whole time I was complaining about how tired I was and that I couldn¹t believe he had woken me up so early.
Around 8:00 a.m., it was time for the weather. Willard Scott was outside, came over to us, introduced himself, and asked for our names. Then he said, "I think we have a moment here..." I turned to my left, and Jason was down on one knee. He said, "Danielle, you're my most favorite thing in the whole world. Will you marry me?" I was SHOCKED! I couldn't believe it -- I had no idea he was planning to propose! Of course, I said yes!

Watch it Below:

The link to the video is below. It was such a wonderful, sweet, and thoughtful proposal! He had been planning it for months, and it was a great surprise!
