Emily and Mark

First Try

My fiance had planned on taking me to the zoo and proposing where we had our first kiss (on our first date). We drove up and it was CLOSED.

And Again

We drove around town to find a nice, private park. The first one was very crowded, so we moved on to the next. We saw someone we knew and talked to them; then we moved on.

Another Proposal Attempt

We came upon this adorable courtyard with nobody in sight. My fiance pulled out a recording of our song (just instrumental) and got about four words out before he couldn’t sing anymore.

We called the parents, and then I found out about the surprise party at my parents’ house.

Before the party, we went out to dinner. When we got back to the surprise party, my fiance got food poisoning from dinner!

Everyone went home and I took care of him that night at my parents’ house.

The next day, I fell all the way down the stairs while babysitting and landed with all my body weight on the ring. It broke, and a few of the small diamonds on the band fell out. We searched the carpet for the lost diamonds, and I turned my ring in the next day and didn’t get it back for two weeks.

Things didn't go as planned at all! However, it wasn't a disaster because I was engaged to the best man in the world and had a beautiful ring. I'm glad to say we’ve now been happily married for almost six months and the planning/wedding/marriage has been smooth sailing!
