My new fiance and I have been together for two-and-a-half years. My good friend got married a couple of months ago, and a few weeks later, she and I went out for lunch. After lunch, she took me to her jewelers where she was picking up her rings after a cleaning. When we got there, one of the customer service agents told us that it had been a busy morning, they were a little behind, and it’d take a few more minutes for my friend’s rings to be ready. Another lady that worked there told us to come on over and try on a few new rings they’d just put on display. I thought this was something my friend did before, so I saw nothing unusual with it. I tried on a ring that I absolutely loved, but I never thought I’d get it!
A couple of months later, my boyfriend and I went to Mexico for a week's vacation. The second day we were there, we went scuba diving in the Caribbean Sea. Once we were 40 feet under, my boyfriend pulled me near him and put a ring on my finger. At first, it totally didn't make any sense to me; I thought it was something he had found on the bottom! He noticed my confusion and pointed to the ring, and then I realized that it was the same ring I’d tried on in the store...the whole thing was set up! I didn't pay any attention to the fish after that! When we got on the boat again, he officially asked me to marry him, and I said “yes.”
