Alicia and Paul

Paul, my fiance, is a private pilot who loves when I accompany him. I asked him if we could go fly and check out the Christmas lights in the Dallas area. On that Thursday night, he insisted we had to go and do the flight on Friday night. I reluctantly agreed because I was having my sister and nephew spend the night and I knew it’d be a tight schedule. (Paul knew all would be forgiven once we returned from our flight.)
So we headed out to all the locations in the DFW area that had been identified by other local pilots as having great Christmas lights. We started in Denton County and headed to Rockwall, down to Grand Prairie and Arlington, circled Sundance Square with their huge lit-up tree, and then started heading out toward the Aledo/Weatherford area. I had really enjoyed myself thus far and was a little confused as we headed out to the country, but I went along with it. (I’m just happy to land safely and leave all the technical stuff to Paul.) Paul told me we were in the country to see a sportscaster’s ranch, but as we began to make sharp turns, I doubted the importance of seeing the ranch after all. At one particular turn, Paul told me to look down. I saw big, lit-up letters that read, “Marry Me Alicia.” At that moment, I was quite surprised and began giggling and looking back and forth between the message and Paul. He handed me the ring box and I eagerly grabbed his flashlight and shone it on the ring. The ring was absolutely beautiful! I kept giggling and Paul finally asked, “Well, is that a yes?” Of course, I said yes!
