Jenna and Niko

Our story starts out in kindergarten when I snuck a quick kiss, but fast-forward 20 years when I felt like the luckiest girl in the world.

Niko asked me to be ready at 5:30 p.m. sharp for dinner at South Padre Island (which was about 30 minutes away) for his brother's graduation party. To be quite honest, I was kind of annoyed to have to leave work early, but nevertheless, I was ready on time. He picked me up and as we got near the island, he said that everyone else was running late and asked if I wanted to go to his parents’ condo to wait for everyone else. I didn't know why we weren't going to the restaurant, but I agreed anyway. As we walked up to the condo, he acted as if he’d forgotten his keys, so we decided to take a short walk on the beach. We kicked off our shoes and walked, hand-in-hand, toward the sandy horizon.

As we got nearer, I could see a six-foot-tall sandcastle nestled in the dunes, and we walked toward it. Keep in mind that we really hadn't spoken much about engagements because I didn’t want to rush him, so I was quite confused as to why he began to "drag" me as we got closer and closer. I could finally see the words on the sandcastle wedding cake: "Jenna, Will You Marry Me? Love, Niko." I was so shocked. He immediately fell to one knee and shoved the gorgeous ring on my finger (the wrong hand, of course!) and asked me to marry him! Obviously, I said, “Yes!”

He wasn't finished with the romance, though, because these photos were taken by Anahi (Anahi PhotoArt) -- she jumped out the sand dunes and took a million pictures. The finishing touch was the blanket, covered in rose petals and huge seashells, with delicious dinner and champagne.
