I’d been in New Jersey for a few days, so my boyfriend came to pick me up from the train when I arrived back in Rhode Island. When we got home, I saw a photo on the door that read, “Welcome to San Diego,” which is where we met. When he opened the door, there were pictures of San Diego lining the walls, including some from when we met. There were roses throughout the hallway leading to our bedroom and candles lit around a photo of us, and in the middle was the ring box. The song he sang to me that first night (at karaoke) was also playing on repeat in the background. I came home to a proposal!
