Liz and Dan

Dan's brother was studying abroad in Rome, and their father generously offered to take us to visit him. I was so excited about the trip and tried not to let the thought This would be the perfect place to propose enter my mind! When it came time for just the two of us to go out to dinner, we still didn't really know our way around or the language, so we asked Dan’s brother for help. We arrived at Trevi Fountain, just behind his dad and brother. Dan asked his brother to take some pictures of us in front of the fountain and gave me a penny to toss in to make a wish. When I turned around from making my wish (I found out later that you’re supposed to face away from the fountain), Dan was down on one knee with the ring box in his hand. I don't think I heard anything he said, but I know he had to tell me that I was supposed to say yes. I just started hugging and kissing him instead.
