What a surprise! Shamos, a general contractor, was being his normal helpful self and contributed tons of man hours and materials building the set for the production of I Don't Have a Clue!, the play Adrienne's high school drama class was putting on. It was Adrienne's directorial debut and she wanted everything to be perfect! The title turned out to have a bigger meaning...
On opening night of the performance, the murder-mystery-comedy had the audience in stitches! After the students took their bows, Shamos insisted that Adrienne go up and be recognized as director. After dragging her on stage, Shamos presented her with a beautiful bouquet and then addressed the audience: "This part is real!" He started fishing in his pocket and Adrienne turned every shade of red! Shamos then got down on one knee on stage and, in front of the whole crowd, popped the question with a family heirloom ring he had gotten from Adrienne's mother. The crowd erupted and her students started cheering. Completely embarrassed, all Adrienne could do was nod her head yes!
Somehow, they managed to make it off the stage and were immediately surrounded by well-wishers and teenagers who wanted to check out the ring. Luckily, most of this was caught by both video and digital cameras, as parents were prepared to capture shots of their children's performance.
