Engagement pics and more family togetherness

FI and I went up to my parents house for the weekend, just outside of Boston, and had a wonderful engagement picture session with our friend, Kelly Anne. We did pictures at the beach Friday night, and then in the city Saturday morning. It felt so nice to be "home". We'd been looking forward to this trip ever since Kelly Anne gifted us her talents back in January. She did a fantastic job, and it was fun to pretend to be models for a day. She wanted us to do a "serious" picture at one point and FI struck his best Blue Steel face (from Zoolander). It was hard keeping a straight face!
We also had great family time. Friday night we had dinner at his parent's house, and my mom came by (dad had to work at the firestation), and Saturday afternoon we had a cookout at my parents' house and FI's parents came over, along with my brother, his wife, and their baby girl. I couldn't help but look around and feel so incredibly blessed that our families live near each other and get along well enough to hang out together. It really is two families coming together through our marriage.
This weekend we're going home again, but not doing much of anything wedding-related. We just want to relax and spend time with our families. The next big check to make is finding and booking our DJ, and pre-cana in 3 weeks.
