Strange, but true

It's amazing the things you end up doing in the wedding-planning process. You know you are having an off week when taking a picture of carpet is on your to-do list.

Yesterday, my future mother-in-law and I met with the caterer so I could show her the linens we selected for the reception. She has never been to the social hall of the synagogue where our wedding is taking place, so I figured I could take a picture and show it to her (it was either that or cut off a piece -- which I figured could get very complicated).

I went to the temple last Monday night, camera in hand, and took several pictures of the blue carpet. However, none of them were actually from the social hall. I figured things were weird enough without me taking pictures of the carpet in front of 30 strangers, so I snapped some pics of the sound booth in the sanctuary. I cracked up the sound tech who was there that night asssiting with another program. I'm a decent picture-taker, but it isn't like you can tell a carpet to smile.

So now the linens are taken care of for our white/blue/silver-colored wedding. Check one more thing off the list!

If anyone out there ever did something equally strange for their wedding, I'd love to hear about it. Just post a comment below or e-mail shoshanal@jewishjournal.com. Surprise
