Missing You

Posted Tuesday, August 21, 2007 1:56 AM

I feel slightly out of my element. I moved in with my fiance last week. I've only unpacked about half of my boxes. I had to ask a clerk at the grocery store where I could find the peanut butter. And on top of it all, Adam is in Kansas. I wish I could say he's always had a desire to recreate Dorothy's early days on the farm and he's working on the "Secret of My Succe$s" tour while he's there. But he's not. He's there doing some traning for his new job.

I miss him terribly. I'm trying to pretend that he has to work late -- and that he just leaves for work before I wake up. In the meantime, I changed a lightbulb. It might not seem like a big deal, but being 5-foot-2 is not easy when having to change a bulb on the ceiling. I couldn't get the damn cover back on (I tried for 15 minutes, but figured it wasn't worth risking my life) -- and of course the step ladder is in the back of the dark, scary, "was that a spider I saw?" garage.

Tonight on the way home from work I called up KOST and requested a song: Michael Buble's "Everything." I was amazed that I got through -- I can never do it during a contest, so I was shocked that I was actually able to be on the air. But, because they had already played it tonight, they couldn't play it again. However, they'll be playing it tomorrow at 7:25 p.m. (I called Adam and I hope he can listen online to it).

It was the first time I had requested a love song (I called the Country channel and requested "9 to 5" after a very crazy Friday). It's amazing that I've joined the ranks of people all over the country who have "dedicated" a song to someone. It seems odd to share your feelings with an entire city -- but I guess this blog lets me share my feelings with the entire world.

Honey, if you are reading this: I miss you. Come home soon -- another lightbulb went out. Idea
