Knot Name: cheese.fiend

Wedding Date: March 28, 2009

Knot Annie: What boards do you post on and have you ever joined other Knotties for a GTG?

cheese.fiend: I'm an Austin Knottie all the way -- I rarely post on other boards although I've lurked on a few a time or two. Although I haven't lived in Austin during the planning process, I’ve joined the other Austin gals for a movie night GTG while I was visiting my parents last summer.

Knot Annie: Describe your wedding.

cheese.fiend: We’re planning an outdoor ceremony and (mostly) outdoor reception at Laguna Gloria with great company, great music, and great food! We don’t really have a “theme,” but I’ve been describing it as “Midnight Garden Party Thrown by Anthropologie” -- some traditional aspects but vintage-y with spunk and funk! Again, I didn’t start out with a particular palette; it was more of a range of bright, warm, spring colors -- everywhere from buttercup yellows to deep pinks. However, two colors have emerged as mainstays in our planning: raspberry and marigold. What I really want more than anything is a warm, inviting, intimate, FUN environment for all of us to celebrate!

Knot Annie: How have the Knotties on your board helped you plan?

cheese.fiend: Wonderful vendor recommendations to start with! I was a bit of a “lurker” myself so I already had a mental list of vendors I wanted to look at once we got engaged. Besides the vendor recommendations (which were invaluable while planning a wedding from out of town and finishing law school), the Austin Knotties have given me more moral support and friendship than I could’ve ever imagined -- my fiance teases me about my “Internet friends,” but I really couldn’t have planned this wedding without them. No one else truly understands the teeny tribulations and stresses that come with this whole process -- every napkin choice, every in-laws issue. These girls are ready and willing to listen, ***, and dish about it all; it’s truly a therapeutic outlet!

Knot Annie: Favorite bio on The Knot and why?

cheese.fiend: Jeepers, I don’t know if I can pick. Fellow Austin Knottie Mrs.Donkey is definitely on my short list. She was planning her wedding when I started lurking. Springchic is another favorite; I loved how modern and glamorous her wedding in Palm Springs was, and she also lent me great advice on Thailand while I was planning our last big trip.

Knot Annie: Best vendor that you've worked with and why?

cheese.fiend: Again, I don’t know if I can pick. I’ve had NO trouble with vendors as of yet (fingers crossed!). I looooove our photographer Stacy Sodolak with SMS Photography and our planner Gina Whittington with Clink!

Knot Annie: Any words of wisdom for the lurkers out there?

cheese.fiend: POST! Don’t be shy on your Local Boards -- put yourself out there, even if it’s just an introduction. I promise, the response you’ll receive will be a positive and welcoming one.

Knot Annie: What are you looking forward to most on your wedding day?

cheese.fiend: Besides marrying my fiance, I’m most looking forward to having all my friends and family in one place for a big celebration! That, and the champagne bar.

Thanks, cheese.fiend. I'm in love with your, "Midnight Garden Party Thrown by Anthropologie" theme.
