Knot Annie: What boards do you post on and have you ever joined other Knotties for a GTG?
Gabs71109: I post mostly on the NH Board. I adore them and have made all but two of their monthly GTGs since I was engaged back in April. I post periodically on the July 09 Board. Those ladies are super-helpful but I simply can’t keep up with all of their fabulous posts.
KA: Describe your wedding.
Gabs71109: My wedding will be held about 35 minutes from my hometown. We’re having an outdoor ceremony followed by a patio cocktail hour and indoor reception, all of which we’ll enjoy with about 100 guests. Our colors are black and fuchsia. I wanted to incorporate cherry blossoms and have done so with my monogram and various other DIY projects. I love that I’m able to incorporate my favorite color (fuchsia) through ribbons, flowers, and other details. A family friend used the word “elegant” to describe my wedding recently, and that’s exactly the look I’m hoping to achieve.
KA: How have the Knotties on your board helped you plan?
Gabs71109: The NH Knotties are phenomenal. They’ve helped with everything from vendors to the type of glue to use for DIY projects. I even had one Knottie send me a copy of her invitation when I was trying to decide if I’d be using the same company as her.
KA: Favorite bio on The Knot and why?
Gabs71109: My favorite bio is probably Tdiddy2’s. I was introduced to her bio back when I started planning my wedding. She has great advice and DIY projects with directions. Bttrflyd80 on the NH board used the same colors as me. I loved checking her bio as she got closer to her wedding date. She was/still is a huge inspiration to me.
KA: Best vendor that you’ve worked with and why?
Gabs71109: It’s hard to pick just one. I’ve been so lucky with my vendors thus far. I’d have to say though that my venue has been my favorite. The coordinator at The Governor’s Inn is phenomenal. Lisa answers all of my questions incredibly quickly, and she’s been more than accommodating.
KA: Any words of wisdom for the lurkers out there?
Gabs71109: Speak up! Introduce yourself! I’m constantly amazed by the kindness of Knotties. You’ll be floored by the length Knotties will go to for each other. Join the fun!
KA: What are you looking forward to most on your wedding day?
Gabs71109: I’m really looking forward to the moment that I get to look my fiance in the eyes for the first time. We’re planning on seeing each other before the ceremony. I’m excited to have that (semi) private moment with him and for our photographer to capture it all on film.
