Knot Name: hizzle85
Wedding Date: September 9, 2009
Knot Annie: Tell me about the Knotties on your board that you post on. Have you ever joined them for a GTG?
hizzle85: I post on both the September ’09 board and the Tennessee board. I’ve not yet been able to attend a GTG.
KA: Describe your wedding.
hizzle85: My wedding is being held at a local old renovated theatre. My colors match the old Hollywood style of the theatre: red, black, and silver. We’ve carried that style over into the invitations and the programs. It’s an intimate wedding, with only 70 of our closest friends and family invited. We’re having both the ceremony and reception in the theatre. The food will be Italian: spaghetti and chicken Alfredo. I think the most awesome thing about my location is the metallic silver tabletops that look like they’ve been artistically scratched.
KA: How have the Knotties on your board helped you plan?
hizzle85: The Knotties on the 9-09 board have really helped me to pace myself about when to get things done. We’re all on basically the same time schedule, so we’re constantly talking about when we’re doing or should be doing different things. They’re also very supportive and honest, which makes for an awesome sounding board. The Knotties on my local board have been great. A couple of us were on a seemingly never-ending search for an affordable videographer, so we were talking about that quite a bit. It’s a good way to find local resources and speak with others who’ve actually had experience with your vendors.
KA: Favorite bio on The Knot and why?
hizzle85: I love SMorriso's bio. She is a fellow 9-09er. Her style is very similar to mine and I really love her artistic ability. She has some really interesting touches that will be making her wedding so unique, like having her wedding at a museum.
KA: Best vendor that you’ve worked with and why?
hizzle85: So far, the best vendor I’ve worked with has been my photographer, David Payne. He’s absolutely awesome and so willing to work with us. He’s very flexible and talented. He did our engagement photos in November and had them up on the site in two days -- just in time for our engagement party where we showed them off to the family. I can’t wait to see his work at our wedding.
KA: What will make your wedding stand out to your guests and where did you find the inspiration?
hizzle85; I think the thing that will stand out the most to our guests will be the location. Our wedding venue is wonderfully unique and really gives off a great atmosphere -- with very little added decor.
KA: What are you looking forward to most on your wedding day?
hizzle85: The thing I’m looking forward to the most on my wedding day is walking down the aisle with my husband and beginning our new life together. The second most exciting thing will be walking into the theatre, seeing all the work I’ve put in for a year, and being able to say, “I did this and it turned out wonderfully.”
Thank you, hizzle85! I love the theatre where it's all taking place and really like a small and personal wedding. I also agree with you about SMorriso.
