Knot Annie: Tell me about the Knotties on your board that you post on. Have you ever joined them for a GTG?

lflick80: No, I haven’t joined the girls for a GTG, although I’ve seen pictures and they look like fun! The girls on the board are great -- especially Val, our moderator. Everyone is very knowledgeable.

KA: Describe your wedding.

lflick80: My ceremony will be held at my hometown church, and the reception is at a hotel in Philadelphia. My fiance and I spent a lot of time in the city when he lived there in the early part of our relationship. Also, we got engaged close to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, which is where we’ll have our pictures taken on our wedding day. Our bridal party includes my sister (my maid of honor), his two sisters, my two cousins, and three of my close college friends. His GMs include my brother and four friends.

KA: How have the Knotties on your board helped you plan?

lflick80: The Knotties on the Philly Board have been an essential part of my planning. I found my band, photographer, florist, DOC, and transportation from Knottie recommendations. Being the first person in my family to get married, I would’ve been lost without their help. The board has been a Godsend.

KA: Favorite bio on The Knot and why?

lflick80: Cathnator’s bio was very helpful to me when I was deciding on how to do my invitations. I contemplated doing my own invitations, but decided against it. Cathnator did her own and had great advice and pictures. She was very helpful, even though I decided to go in another direction.

KA: Best vendor that you’ve worked with and why?

lflick80: I’ve really loved working with my photographer, Erin Farrell. She’s very sweet and down to earth and takes beautiful pictures. She was the second vendor I booked and I’ve been thrilled with her. Our engagement session was great -- she’s so easy to be around. I can’t wait for our wedding. I’ve also loved working with my invitation company. They’ve been fantastic!

KA: What will make your wedding stand out to your guests, and where did you find the inspiration?

lflick80: My fiance and I both have big families and a large group of friends. We really want our wedding to be a fun, carefree event. I think our guests will be most impressed with our band. We looked for a band that would keep people on the dance floor all night. I’ve been to weddings with both bands and DJs and have always really enjoyed bands, which inspired me to have one.

KA: What are you looking forward to most on your wedding day?

lflick80: I’m really looking forward to all of the most important people in our lives being together for this joyous day. And, of course, I’m looking forward to seeing FI waiting for me down the aisle!
