Knot Name: Tygirljojo

Wedding Date: 7/10/10

Knot Annie: Tell me about the Knotties on your board that you post on. Have you ever joined them for a GTG?

Tygirljojo: I lurked for a while before I started posting and have pretty much stayed on the Seattle board. It's great to hear and learn about what wedding customs are typically used and acceptable since there seems to be so much involved with weddings that are region-specific. I've attended three GTGs and it's been great to be able to talk with such a fantastic group of women and meet them in person.

KA: Describe your wedding.

Tygirljojo: Outdoor, laid-back, semiformal garden wedding

KA: How have the Knotties on your board helped you plan?

Tygirljojo: Again, the Knotties are a fabulous group of supportive ladies who share great advice, from vendors to how to handle different situations and dilemmas.

KA: Favorite bio on The Knot and why?

Tygirljojo: Champagne Supernova -- she's got a lot of details on her site and her DIY projects all look amazing! It's actually rather inspirational.

KA: Best vendor that you’ve worked with and why?

Tygirljojo: So far, I’ll have to say the venue. The owners are really nice and have kept in contact with me just to keep me posted about their various projects around the place. Communication is key to keeping a bride sane.

KA: What will make your wedding stand out to your guests, and where did you find the inspiration?

Tygirljojo: Touches of Thai influences. My mom is Thai and I wanted to acknowledge and honor that part of my heritage. On a trip to visit my relatives a couple months ago, I had the bridesmaid dresses made there in a sort of traditional Thai style. I bought the favors there too: stained mango wood tealight holders with a lotus flower carving on the sides.

KA: What are you looking forward to most on your wedding day?

Tygirljojo: Enjoying the venue and company...and PARTYING!

Thank you so much, Tygirljojo! I love the bridesmaid gift idea.
