Knot Name: Knot Name: Chance_Encounters
Wedding Date: October 16, 2009
Knot Annie: Tell me about the Knotties on your board that you post on. Have you ever joined them for a GTG?
Chance_Encounters: I think October 2009 Weddings is the best board. The girls are very friendly and always have great suggestions. They are a fantastic group of ladies.
KA: Describe your wedding.
Chance_Encounters: Our wedding will be winery- and fall-themed. We shaved the bottoms off wine corks and cut a slit in the top, and they will be the place card holders. We have also made custom wine bottle labels. Our primary colors are chocolate brown and champagne. Our centerpieces are 14” square vases that will have ivory floating candles and fall leaves with twigs sticking out (much prettier than it sounds!). We had a lot of DIY projects for the wedding and are both very excited to see everything come together.
KA: How have the Knotties on your board helped you plan?
Chance_Encounters: Their opinions have been great. We had four different centerpiece ideas. I posted pictures of each of the examples and got opinions on them. Their thoughts were very close to what FI and I thought too, and it helped us select. They also helped with the proper wording on the invitations and writing our ceremony.
KA: Favorite bio on The Knot and why?
Chance_Encounters: Ilovemyco -- she is very honest and always good for a giggle. Her sense of humor keeps things lighthearted.
KA: Best vendor that you’ve worked with and why?
Chance_Encounters: Sierra Nevada Chocolate Company -- We had an idea of what we wanted for our favors. They made several batches/examples of chocolate (which we gladly sampled) and made our favors the perfect flavor and color! They are fantastic!
KA: What will make your wedding stand out to your guests and where did you find the inspiration?
Chance_Encounters: I think it is all in the personal touches: everything from our sign-in plate (that we hand-stenciled) to the etched glasses for each person in the wedding party and custom-made wine charms (super-easy and very pretty). I think the wedding ceremony will stand out the most though. FI and I wrote it together.
KA: What are you looking forward to most on your wedding day?
Chance_Encounters: The moment I walk down that aisle, hold FI’s hands, and say I do. He is amazing and I can’t wait to be his wife and start our new life together.
Thank you and congrats! I love the story of how you and your FI met.
