Knot Annie: Tell me about the Knotties on your board that you post on. Have you ever joined them for a GTG?
teddidan: The Knotties on the October 2010 board are absolutely wonderful! All of them are SO supportive and just amazing. Our MOD for the board, Liz (lizzonyc), is great at informing everyone of the GTGs that she arranges and updating the bride list so everyone is mentioned and recognized. The ladies are all so encouraging and I’m glad to be a part of such a great community!
I haven’t gotten the chance to attend any of the GTGs they’ve had, but I heard the last one was a blast! Liz posted some great pictures from it. Knot Annie was able to attend and gave all the girls some goodie bags, and Liz made some bags for them as well!
We have really fun siggy challenges every two weeks and we alternate with WR and then NWR. Right now our NWR siggy challenge is “Our Favorite Thing About Fall”!
KA: Describe your wedding.
teddidan: Our wedding was originally planned for May 15, 2010, which would be our six-year anniversary (what better way to celebrate!?), but our plans changed a little. FI’s youngest brother (also a best man) is in the Navy and is set to deploy at the end of this year and he will be gone until August of 2010. We set our wedding date for October of 2010 hoping he’d have enough time to get back (safely!) and be ready to celebrate with us. We chose the 15th because we got together on the 15th of May so it seemed appropriate. Not only that, but it falls on a Friday, and Fridays are so much cheaper!
Our colors are sage green (my fave), black, and ivory. It’s not really a fall-themed wedding, although we are getting married in the fall in New York while the trees are gorgeous! I love damask prints and black flourish designs, so I’m planning on using those throughout the wedding. I plan on doing a lot of things myself to save money and to add my personal touch. We’re getting married in a church and having our reception at a local country club.
I have seven people on my side: my sister (MOH), my cousin (MOH), my two best friends from high school, my best friend from church (who I met when I was five), my best friend from elementary school, and a good friend that I met when I moved to New York! FI’s side consists of his two brothers (the best men), his best friend from first grade, and four friends he met in the Marines.
KA: How have the Knotties on your board helped you plan?
teddidan: So far, the wonderful Knotties have helped with save-the-date designs, colors, bridesmaid dress styles and colors, and suggestions on themes and how to choose a photographer!
KA: Favorite bio on TheKnot.com and why?
teddidan: I love a few Knottie bios, but by far my favorite is http://keb270.googlepages.com/home2. She is from the Upstate NY Board. Her bio is so full of detail and pictures! We share a lot of the same ideas and it gives me a sense of what my wedding will look like.
KA: Best vendor that you’ve worked with and why?
teddidan: So far, the best vendor I’ve worked with is my photographer. Her name is Megan Lange and her website is LimeGreenPhotography.com. She takes amazing pictures! To me, she’s the most important vendor because she will be there to capture all of the memories and moments of the day. She is going to be there to see the things I won’t be paying attention to, and to make the memories last! She is a great girl that I met through FI’s brother. She also shot his wedding.
KA: What will make your wedding stand out to your guests and where did you find the inspiration?
teddidan: Our wedding will be so much fun! We have so many great people that are a part of it and so many personal touches that are going to make it stand out to our guests. I am going to be doing a lot of DIY projects that will make it very special and memorable for everyone.
KA: What are you looking forward to most on your wedding day?
teddidan: Most of all, I am looking forward to starting my life with the man I’ve loved for over six years. I can’t wait to be his wife! I also can’t wait to see the family that is coming from out of town. It is going to be such a joyous day!
