Knot Name: marburs
Wedding Date: May 22, 2010
KA: Tell me about the Knotties on your board that you post on. Have you ever joined them for a GTG?
marburs: I have been to a couple GTGs actually. Most of the ladies on my board are all so much fun! A few of us (maybe more than a few, about 20) actually keep in touch regularly. I originally met a close friend and one of my bridesmaids on The Knot!
KA: Describe your wedding.
marburs: My FI and I are planning a wedding where things are formal, yet guests still feel comfortable and have a great time! Our colors are blue and green and we're having a slight theme of vintage photography. Antique cameras as the table numbers, old, black-and-white photographs of the guests, and a photo booth as our favor!
KA: How have the Knotties on your board helped you plan?
marburs: They have all been a huge help. I've gotten many vendor recommendations from everyone. They've helped me out with how to word invitations and STDs, also working on my timeline. We also had a GTG where we all went to a Knottie's final fitting and they picked out wedding dresses for me to try on!
KA: Favorite bio on The Knot and why?
marburs: kwynn's bio is amazing. Her name is Kristen and her bio is so in depth! She DIYed so many things -- and really explained everything!
KA: Best vendor that you’ve worked with and why?
marburs: I love all my vendors so far, but of course I haven't had the big day yet. I would say that my favorite is my photographer. A fellow Knottie (and future BM) recommended her -- she's so easygoing and really worked with me to get the package to fit my needs!
KA: What will make your wedding stand out to your guests and where did you find the inspiration?
marburs: The things that will make my wedding stand out are all the little DIY details. Everything from the personalized corsages for honored guests to the cookie table filled with homemade cookies from my family. It’s the little things that people remember. I got all my inspiration from pictures on The Knot as well as Knottie bios. I try to keep all of my pictures organized in a folder, but the best of the best are on my bio: marburs.yolasite.com
KA: What are you looking forward to most on your wedding day?
marburs: As cheesy as this sounds, I'm looking forward to having a amazingly fun day with the man of my dreams and all of my friends and family!
